Extracurricular Activities in Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida

Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida also encourages students to take part in competitions organised by other institutes.

Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida conducts many extracurricular activities and encourages students to bring out their best. Throughout the PGDM program, a series of activities, competitions and events are conducted at various levels. 

It starts from the very beginning when college commences. During the orientation itself, the college organises various mini-games, competitions and ice-breaking sessions. This includes art, poetry, dance, debate, quizzes, treasure hunts and more. 

Quizzes: To keep up the spirit of competition and the students up to date with the current affairs, the college conducts various quizzes from time to time. There are general knowledge quizzes related to the business world or some specific occasion-related quizzes like a quiz on Republic Day. 

SEC (Student Excellence Council): After a month, when students get settled well, the interviews for clubs and committees start. SEC is one of the major parts of Jaipuria’s two-year PGDM program. It includes various clubs and committees that students can be a part of. There is a club for every course specialisation i.e., Finance, Marketing, HR, and Operations. There are Discipline Committee, Hostel Affairs Committee, Admissions Cell, Entrepreneurship Cell, etc as well. 

 A student can choose to be a part of any committee or club he/ she wishes to. The interview is conducted by senior batch members and faculty heads of the respective committees. There is no limit to the no. of committees, a student wishes to join. Ideally, it should be 2-3 so that one can give enough time and attention to each of them along with balancing on the academic front. Each committee then conducts various quizzes and competitions from time to time. 

Cultural events: Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida celebrates all cultural festivals like Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali, Holi, Janmashtami, etc. with full enthusiasm and spirit. During these celebrations, various activities like dance competitions, fancy dress, singing and more are also conducted. 

Gravity: Gravity is the annual fest of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida. It is a two-day long event that takes place in December. It includes a lot of extracurricular activities covering almost every category at various levels. The winners also get awarded cash prizes and certificates. 

To name a few events, there are academic quizzes, fancy dress competitions, singing & dancing, cooking competition, art & craft, a corporate buzz, which is like a bidding competition, skips and plays, fashion shows, etc. Last year there was a replica of the IPL auction hosted at the college. 

Some sports events including cricket, volleyball and basketball are also organised at the national level. Students take part in a number of games and events that happens at the college. These events are free of charge for the students of Jaipuria, whereas the students of other colleges have to pay the registration amount. To make a fair judgment and decision, the judges are called from outside to select the winners of different events. 

It is like a fair where the whole college is decorated beautifully with food stalls all around. For entertainment purposes, DJs are also called on both nights and last year Stand-up comedian Gaurav Gupta came to perform. 

Punarsangam: This is yet another amazing event of Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida that is organised every year in February for the get-together of the Alumni. Though there are no such competitions in the event, it has some events like dancing and singing performed by the ongoing batch followed by a dinner at the end. 

There are also some small events named ‘coffee with alumni’ that call out previous batch alumni to talk to the students about their experiences and learnings. 

Off-campus Events: Apart from all the events and competitions that are conducted by the college, Jaipuria Institute of Management, Noida also encourages students to take part in competitions organised by other institutes. These could be both academic and non-academic. Students get help from faculty members to prepare for such opportunities. Some competitions do come with some great offers like amazing cash prizes, internships, PPOs, and more. So, it becomes a great opportunity for the students to showcase their talents at a bigger level.
