I sincerely enjoyed my two most wonderful years here: Mehak Pasricha
Well, I enrolled myself into this exciting PGDM IB at Jagannath International Management School Kalkaji. The international Business PGDM is a seven-trimester program with lots of courses, assignments, presentations, case studies and lots and lots of exams.
So, for the first half of the PGDM IB, a week's schedule would be classes from 11am to 5pm, almost every day (even Saturdays). It is indeed full time. There are many group projects and presentations. This makes the first year really intense. Along with all the academic stuff, there is a whole bunch of extra-curricular activities, beginning from the foundation classes to orientation program and then a splendid freshers’ party. Here, I enjoyed working maximum hours of the day. We had so many events to coordinate, participate and win: e-week, JIMS- CBS Debate Competition, Markathon, JIMS- JMC Quiz, Spardha – Sports Day. Then there were so many seminars to attend and of course, the International Conference held in March every year. The list goes on and on with JIMS Kalkaji keeping us on toes and our hands full with all the academics, cultural and sports activities.
The whole two months of May and June were dedicated to my summer internship. The summer project actually helped me in understanding the way work happens in corporate. Back to institute in July, there was Campus to Corporate organised for all the senior batch students. The three days’ workshop was aimed at taking our next step from academics to corporate. For the second year, it really started from preparing us hard for the upcoming placements. There were so many mock GDs and PI that actually helps you in gaining the confidence to appear for the interviews and never make you fall short of the words. So, yes, I learnt everything about cracking the interviews in my time spent so far at my institute. And the month of September proved to be like a dream come true for me.
Yes, I got selected in the first company that came over for campus placement-Deloitte!
Oh how I felt, I can’t express in words. The first company and the first name announced was mine. I couldn’t believe. The happiest day of my life, the happiest moment. I could not believe till my friend actually pinched me hard and tears start rolling out of happiness. Thank you all my teachers and mentors for making me competent to clear seven rounds of the interview of such a big name – Deloitte.
The whole world changed for me. And I felt so happy and relaxed to get placed. I had not to worry any further for interviews, aptitude tests, etc. And from there another era of college life started, one by one all my friends started getting selected in top companies- Amazon, Nestle, E&Y, ICICI, IDBI, Café Coffee Day to name a few. So one party after the another, and yes almost all my batchmates were placed by early 2019. And last but not least, we had a grand farewell party, in which I was awarded as “Ms. Showstopper”. How can I forget the moment, when my heart came to a still when my name was announced. Applaud everywhere and I felt nothing less than a celebrity receiving the award.
I truly and sincerely enjoyed my two most wonderful years spent here. Thanks to JIMS Kalakji for turning my life around and giving me a good start in the corporate world!
