IIM JAP 2027 for MBA Admissions; Dated, Result, Merit List, Waitlist Movement

IIM Joint Admission Process 2027- Dates for IIM MBA admission through JAP will be announced in January 2027 after the announcement of CAT 2026 result. IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi and IIM Trichirappalli are the four constituent institutes of IIM JAP. IIM Joint Admission Process (JAP). In 2026, a common admission process was launched to ease the IIM selection process for MBA admission. IIM Kashipur, IIM Ranchim IIM Raipur and IIM Trichy conducted a joint admission process to smoothen MBA admission process. These IIMs were a part of IIM CAP earlier.

IIM JAP process of admission to IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi and IIM Trichirappalli, includes Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). Students planning for MBA admission through CAT exam, will be eligible for IIM JAP. The selection process link or PI shortlist link will be released in the second week of January 2027. IIM JAP cutoff will be announced a few days after the announcement of CAT 2026 result in December. What is IIM JAP 2027?

IIM JAP or the IIM Joint Admission Process 2027, is a process to apply to the MBA programmes at IIM Raipur, IIM Kashi, IIM Trichy and IIM Ranchi, through one channel. The students who appear for the CAT exam and have a valid CAT score will be able to apply for MBA admissions through JAP at the JAP participating colleges. The initiative has been launched to make it easier for the students by minimizing paperwork, improving fairness and offering a transparent admission process.

Making IIM admission process student centric and increasing transparency is the core focus of JAP 2027. The selection through JAP will be based on CAT results.

IIM JAP Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for IIM JAP 2027 is:

• Candidate should have appeared for the CAT 2026 exam
• Should have achelor’s degree from a recognized university or institute with a minimum of 50% aggregate, 45% for reserved categories.

IIM Joint Admission Process 2027 for MBA Admissions

The JAP MBA admission process 2027 is as follows:

Appearing for CAT 2026 and CAT Results

The first step is to appear for the CAT exam. The CAT exam date 2025 is November 29, 2026. IIM Indore will conduct the exam this year in about 120+ cities scross India. The application portal for JAP admission will open after the announcement of the CAT 2026 results.

JAP Application Process 2027

Once the results for CAT exam are out, the candidates who have secured 95 percentile and above will be able to apply to the participating colleges through the JAP portal. The link to apply for JAP will be opened in second week of January 2027.

Selection and Shortlisting

For IIM JAP 2026, IIM Raipur managed the application process for IIM JAP MBA admissions which included reviewing the applications and the interview process. For the IIM JAP 2027 Written Ability Test and Personal Interview will be conducted. The performance of the candidates in these rounds will be considered for admission to all four IIMs. Students must have an APAAR ID to apply for JAP admissions.

Final MBA Admissions

Once the candidate clears all the rounds of the JAP selection process, students will be called final seat allotment and admission offer.  

JAP admission process was launched to simplify the process of applying for MBA admission to different institutes. Students can apply through a single window instead of applying at different IIMs separately. This will improve transparency, reduce paperwork, save the time and effort of the student thus making it very efficient, whilst providing a streamlined, student-friendly experience.

IIM JAP 2026 Shortlisting Criteria

After the announcement of CAT results, students will be shortlisted based on JAP CAT cutoff 2026. The IIM JAP shortlisting criteria is as follows:

• Students should appear for the CAT exam and secure a percentile
• Candidates should meet the minimum percentage in Class 10, 12 and graduation
• Candidates with work experience may be given some priority
• Gender and academic background is also taken into consideration

IIM JAP Work Experience 2027

The students will be awarded the IIM JAP 2027 work experience scores based on the length of service as of December 31, 2026. Only full time, remunerative experience will be considered. The work experience will be calculated in months. Students should ensure that the work experience they are declaring is authentic and professionally significant to merit credit. 

Part time work experience, apprenticeship, articleship, internship, etc. will not be considered as a work experience.
