Key strategies to achieve success in MAT exams are identifying your mistakes and constant attempts to hit your target scores in the last month of preparation.
Just one month to go for the D-day. You have been preparing for it for months now, you have read all the three sections and hopefully practising it too. Having read so much, it is time to test what has been read until now. You should be not be equipped with many things left for learning. Rather you should start with your test series now. 2-3 tests per week should be your target as this will increase your practice and will directly affect your performance on the D-day.
The approach towards the test is also a major variable that should be considered while attempting it. A proper strategy has to be made on how to attempt the easy questions first and dodge the tough ones. We should keep a target score in our mind and adhere to that. The target score can be different for different candidates. One should always be clear about the target score, as achieving that makes it convenient to shuffle and attempt new questions. In every test, one should ensure that he attempts and achieves the target score. If not, it should be reached in the subsequent attempts.
After completing the test, comes the most important aspect of preparation. It is the analysis of your performance in the test. This analysis will help you in realizing your mistakes and identifying the key points for improvement. If required, one can also improve their strategy which will help in the longer run. With repetitive attempts of tests and its analysis will lead you towards perfection. You should try to maintain a balance between all three sections i.e Quant, Verbal, and LR-DI. It is important to keep that balance because of the sectional cutoff of premium B-schools. It happens with many candidates that despite clearing the overall cutoff, they fail to meet all criteria, which also needs to be considered.
After repeating this completely tedious process for a month, the day comes when you have to deliver. The day of delivery or the day of examination is the most important, as it is going to decide your career in many aspects. It is do or die where we need to win. You need to just relax and think about all the preparation you have already done. The level of preparation you have done is more than enough and if you can deliver to the level you have prepared, you will easily reach the desired target. So just relax and give your best shot.
Once you are done with the test, there is a different set of strategies you need to prepare for after your results. Till then, All the best!
