If given a chance I would like to provide other students exposure about how the actual business runs. This will develop their entrepreneurial skills and boost their confidence to build their own startup.
I was very clear about my choice after school. I chose the stream of science because it could give me different opportunities. In 2 years of high school, I opted for PCMB ie Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology which cleared my vision for graduation. I did my 12th pass from Abhyankar Kulkarni Junior College, Ratnagiri in 2015 and chose a Bachelor of Pharmacy at the Government College of Pharmacy in Ratnagiri.
It was a 4-year degree course where I gained in-depth knowledge about medicines. Apart from academics, I was also involved in co-curricular activities in the college like sports events and cultural activities. After completing my degree course in 2019, I shifted to management as I possess leadership qualities and was more inclined towards managing work. While searching for such a course, I came across SIES College of Management Studies, Nerul.
I did a thorough research about the college, campus, its course and many other parameters. I researched course duration and college placement. Also, I went through the review of this college and found that this college offers a postgraduate diploma in pharmaceutical management. It is a 2-year full-time program that basically meets my core subjects as well as my requirement of management studies. I found this course a perfect fit for me because this course includes management skills as well as my basic knowledge of pharmacy. So I chose this college and course.
I always wanted to study management. While researching about SIES College of Management Studies, Nerul, I went through the entire process of admission to their official site. The basic requirement to get admission in this college was to crack one of the entrance exams like MH-CET, ATMA, CAT. Therefore, I appeared for MH -CET in 2019. After passing the entrance exam, the college provides us with a date for the final process.
There is a complete interview process which includes group discussion and a round of personal interviews. Group discussion includes discussion on some topics that help to test your knowledge about the given topic and communication skills. In the personal interview round, they ask some basic questions about your background and life goals. After a few days, they publish the list of selected candidates for the course.
I received an official letter from the college upon getting admission for the course. You are given a time limit to pay the fee and secure a seat. Since I was sure about getting admission in this college, I did not try any other college or other options for management studies. I did not go for any specific coaching for admission. I did my preparation with some online lectures and videos which are available on various sites. I was able to crack the exam with self-preparation.
The admission process went smoothly and I entered this college with lots of aspirations and dreams. We were inducted by our faculty members and seniors. They made us familiar with the college and the specializations available in the college. I always wanted to do marketing as my specialization.
It has helped me in shaping my personality and also has given me a different perspective of managing things. It has also given me a sense of responsibility. It has boosted my confidence in many ways by interacting with new people and performing various activities which involved public speaking.
In college, we have lectures from 9:30 am- 5:00 pm. After the lectures, I daily go to the library to read the newspaper because we should be updated with the current situation and news of the world. Sometimes I also play sports like volleyball or badminton for a little while.
As a member of the Student Council, I look at the students' problem and help them solve those problems. Apart from this, I like interesting subjects such as accounts, finance, strategy management and brand management. I am a part of Council Member where we look after the welfare of students and arrange various activities to engage them.
If given a chance I would like to provide other students exposure about how the actual business runs. This will develop their entrepreneurial skills and boost their confidence to build their own startup. The college has not only helped me in building my personality but has completely transformed me as a person. Soft skills of the students are enhanced. Workshops and seminars have helped me expand my connections in various fields which is amazing. The college has always been instrumental in providing the necessary knowledge and an optimistic attitude towards life. I have started thinking in a broader perspective towards the all-important situation to find solutions and achieve goals in life.
