By: Neha Rajendra Deore
Prepare for the aptitude test. Revise what you have studied in graduation if you are planning to give an interview. Prepare for group discussion. Do not take them casually. Most of the candidates are rejected in a group discussion because they take them lightly.
A new placement season is just around the corner. Every year, placement season presents students like you with ample good job opportunities to land you in your dream job. Understanding the current economic situation and a slowdown in hiring, this phase is expected to be tighter this year and the competition is going to be a measured problem.
I know all the students are excited about and prepared for their placements. Ready for long aptitude round, group discussion and stress interviews, students can still go to YouTube, read blogs and websites to do the final round of preparation.
I will tell you some tips and tricks that will give you an idea of how to prepare for an interview.
The recruitment process involves an aptitude round wherein the company filters out most of the candidates, followed by group discussion and technical round. Therefore, here are some steps involved in the preparation:
Step 1: Make a list of companies that visit the institute.
Step 2: Categorise all the companies that you have listed in such a way that you could separate the technical job from non-technical ones. You could also segregate them based on their selection criteria such as aggregate score among others. This will help you in shortlisting the companies that you want to appear for.
Step 3: Make a resume based on your specialisation.
Step 4: Find out the selection process for all the companies, including HR round, technical round, group discussion, personal interview and aptitude test, etc.
Step 5: Prepare for the aptitude test. Revise what you have studied in graduation if you are planning to give an interview. Prepare for group discussion. Do not take them casually. Most of the candidates are rejected in a group discussion because they take them lightly.
Step 6: Improve your communication skills as much as possible. In many jobs, you are required to have excellent written and oral communication skills.
