Internship is mandatory for all the students at Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies. As a part of the course curriculum of the third semester every student required to undergo the internship.

In our college, the companies visit from October to February and pick students for Summer Internship Programme (SIP) for the duration of two months which is held from April to May. The Stipend of Internship stands as high as Rs 30,000 and also there is an opportunity to get a pre-placement offer (PPO) from the respective companies.

Eligibility: All the students pursuing MBA or PGDM at Rajagiri Centre for Business Studies, Kochi and who are in their Second Semester are eligible for the Internship. And also there is a catch in some companies that prefer B.Tech in their under-graduate as well as a minimum of 60 percent throughout the academics is preferred. But having a decent percentage above 60 years of age is eligible in almost all the companies. Basic eligibility for SIP is:

  • A minimum of 60 percent of marks is preferred in matriculation to graduation.
  • Age should be a maximum of 26 years.
  • Fluency in English and additional regional language such as Hindi is preferred.
  • Any graduation

Companies: Some of the good companies that visit for SIP and offer stipendiary internships are Goldman Sachs, Nivea, Federal Bank, HDFC Bank, Aditya Birla and Times of India. Out of these companies, the highest stipend offered was in the year 2018-19. A student was offered Rs 30,000 by Goldman Sachs.

Projects: During the internship, we are responsible to work on a project offered by the organisation and on the basis of the company’s business requirements. In my case, I did my internship with HDFC Bank Limited and the project given to me was to prepare a report on the topic “Opportunity mapping of Banking and services in the IT sector”. Additionally, we are also asked to do an organisation study which is to be submitted in the college and is solely for college purpose. Every project we are offered in the internship is based on business requirements and have ultimate learning.

Off-campus placement: In Rajagiri, we do have off-campus placement initiated by the placement cell. The arrangement for traveling is done by the college. Off-campus placement is held in other institute and thus our college placement cell takes care of all the details and requirements and intimates us about it over the email. Basically, we called off-campus placement as a pool campus placement and which is competitive in nature as different colleges take part in it. Pool campus also happens in our campus to depending upon the number of candidates’ applications.
