Students’ Speak: Technical & general knowledge together makes you interview-ready
One of the most challenging phases of the placement interview is group discussion. To ensure you have a smooth sail, you should know about all the current topics and general topics and should able to communicate in a proper manner.
Every company that visits a management college to recruit a student has its own way of selecting the right candidate. Interviews and the recruitment process totally depend on the company and can be divided into various rounds. For instance, companies in the finance domain check the technical knowledge and all the basic knowledge of financial statements, derivatives and accounts. While those from the marketing domain can ask about the basic concept of marketing.
One of the most challenging phases of the placement interview is group discussion. To ensure you have a smooth sail, you should know about all the current topics and general topics and should able to communicate in a proper manner. In an interview, one should have deep technical knowledge because sometimes a company looks for beyond-basic knowledge.
Most of the times people think that HR's interview round is easy, but in my opinion, it is one of the hardest sessions to crack. Mostly because you are unaware of what kind of person is the one sitting on the other side of the table. Sometimes they give a situation and we have to resolve it. So, students need to be careful while giving an answer because one wrong answer can ruin the interview. Students should analyse themselves and should prepare an answer accordingly. Try to be honest as much as you can otherwise cross-questioning can ruin your interview.
According to the placement report of Sydenham Institute of Management Studies, Research and Entrepreneurship Education (SIMSREE), 100 percent students were placed from the 2017-2019 batch. All the students got placed through the college itself.
