According to NIRF 2025, Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences Lucknow emerged as the top MBBS college in UP followed by other top colleges like IMS Banaras Hindu University and KGMU Lucknow. 

 Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery is the full form of MBBS. A bachelor's degree in medicine, surgery or MBBS is a five-year undergraduate medical degree programme. It is taken from the Latin phrase Medicinae Baccalaureus Chirurgiae. On December 28th, 2022 NMC announced the guidelines National Exit Test NExT with details on eligibility, structure, and scoring. NMC National Exit Test NExT exam, assuming it is conducted by AIIMS Delhi, will be single-window for exiting candidates, and allow MBBS candidates please to safely practice in  India. It sections test theory and practical knowledge and skills in regard to the two sections. Once it is operational, the NExT exam will replace FMGE and NEET PG exam currently used to license foreign medical graduates to practice medicine in India.

NExT tests will be conducted two times per year May and November. On June 27, the National Medical Commission NMC etc. indicated that the National Exit Test would be delivered in two stages using computer systems- the written stage and the practical stage. Candidates must successfully complete Step 1 and complete their internship in order to qualify for Step 2. 
According to the NMC draft considerations, the National Exit Test was designed as a means to add predictability to the summative evaluation for the country in terms of the common minimum levels of education and training for a medical graduate.

Both Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh are excellent options for MBBS programmes in India, with each having particular benefits and drawbacks. Media reports indicate that Maharashtra state board students constitute the largest cohort of NEET-UG applicants throughout the preceding five years, while Uttar Pradesh had the highest number of qualifying candidates. The NEET 2025 result is expected to be released in the first week of June 2025, within a month of conducting the exam. NTA does not announce the NEET result date in advance. Although last year the result date was stated to be declared on June 14, NTA released it 10 days in advance. Hence, there is no fixed date or schedule for NTA to declare the NEET result. Prior to the declaration of the result, NTA releases the final NEET answer key. Last year, NEET was conducted on May 5 and the result was declared June 4.
