CBSE has issued new skill education guidelines for Classes 6–8, introducing coding, AI, design thinking and digital skills with hands-on projects and teacher training.
Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released new guidelines to strengthen skill education for students in Classes 6 to 8. From upcoming academic session, coding, artificial intelligence (AI), digital citizenship and design thinking will be integrated into middle school curricula across all CBSE-affiliated schools.
CBSE will also conduct teacher orientation programs to help educators deliver the updated curriculum using NCERT Skill Bodh activity materials. The board aims to shift learning from rote memorization to hands-on, practical and project-based activities, preparing students for future technology-oriented careers.
Under updated framework, skill subjects will be assessed through projects and practical evaluations and marks may contribute to students’ overall performance metrics, reinforcing experiential learning alongside academics.
