Karnataka 2nd PUC syllabus has been revised for Psychology, Computer Science and Home Science subjects. From session 2025-26, a minimum pass percentage will be applied to freshers, private and repeater candidates.

Karnataka 2nd PUC Exam 2026

The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board (KSEAB) has announced revised passing criteria and syllabus for the Second Pre-University Course (2nd PUC) examinations. As per the notification, the Karnataka 2nd PUC syllabus 2026 has been revised for Psychology, Computer Science, and Home Science for fresh students starting from the 2025-26 academic year. However, repeater students will be allowed to write their exams based on the old syllabus in the current academic year.

75% Attendance Mandatory for Practical Exams

KSEAB has announced that 75% attendance is mandatory to be eligible for practical examinations. These scores will be added to the final marks alongside the practical record book. Several experts have mentioned that this will boost the state's overall pass percentage and student morale.

Karnataka 2nd PUC Board Exam 2026: Minimum Passing Criteria Reduced

The students in II PUC will now require a lower percentage to clear their exams. As per the revised Karnataka Board exam passing criteria 2026, the overall passing aggregate has been lowered to 33%, down from 35%. Meanwhile, the subject-wise passing minimum for the written exam component has also been reduced to 30%. Hence, students have to score 24 marks out of 80 for non-practical subjects, and 21 marks out of 70 for science subjects like Physics and Chemistry.

Karnataka Board to have Three Annual Examinations

KSEAB has further announced that there will be a "three annual examinations" system, eliminating the traditional "supplementary" title for board exam students. This means, candidates who will fail the first Karnataka Board 2026 main exam will have two more options to pass the exam and avoid dropping a year.
