New Courses Launch for WBCHSE students 2027: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) is launching a ‘Bootstrap Program 2026’ to help students prepare for new, high-demand subjects like Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Cyber Security, and Applied Artificial Intelligence. It has even upgraded existing subjects like Modern Computer Application and Computer Science to keep them relevant.

What is Bootstrap program about?

The Council offers short guidance programs (the "Bootstrap Program") on key subjects to warm up students. The program is offered in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths, and various Computer Science and allied applications. The classes for the program will be held in either offline or online mode.

Bootstrap program - Who can apply and how?

Students preparing for WB Madhyamik exams 2026 are eligible to apply for the program. The Board will release a Google Form by February 15, 2026 on the Council website. Students need to fill the form and pay a nominal registration fee of Rs 100 per subject.

Bootstrap program - When and where?

The online classes will take place in April 2026, conducted from Vidyasagar Bhavan. Those who enroll will receive notifications and their participation certificates via their registered email IDs.

Q:   Will I be allowed to enter the hall and write the exam if I reach my WB Mahyamik exam centre a little late?
A:

No, you will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after the commencement of exam. Thus, it is advised to keep yourself prepared and leave your home, considering the buffer time for traffic, in case you find it. Try reaching the exam centre at least half an hour before the exam time. 

Q:   Can I go to washroom during Class 10 board exam?
A:

Yes, going to washroom during the class 10 board exams in India is allowed. When appearing for the any class 10 board exams, you must feel relaxed, confident and comfortable. So yes, students are allowed to use washroom even during the class 10 board exams. However, an invigilator can take you to the washroom because many students often use washroom for using unfair means and cheat in board exam.

Students must note that the invigilator can frisk them anytime during the exam duration if they found using unfair means for cheating inside the washroom. So, it is recommended to use washroom only when needed.

Q:   What is allowed to be carried to WB Madhyamik exam hall?
A:

You only need to carry the required stationary, and hall ticket to the examination hall. 

Students are not allowed to carry following items to WBBSE Examination hall:

  • Instruments 
  • Handbag 
  • Purse 
  • Any kind of Paper/ Textual material (printed or written material) 
  • Eatables (loose or packed) 
  • Mobile Phone / Earphone/ Microphone
  • Calculator 
  • Camera 
  • Tape Recorder 
  • Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator 
  • Any metallic item or electronic gadgets / devices
