IIM Vizag wins 12 Medals at Inter-IIM Sports Tournament

Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Vizag secured 12 medals across various sports, finishing fourth overall among the participating institutions. This remarkable achievement showcases IIM-V's growing commitment to nurturing a strong sporting culture alongside its academic excellence.

The Indian Institute of Management-Visakhapatnam (IIM-V) has made a significant mark at the inter-IIM sports tournament, hosted by IIM-Bangalore from November 15. The institute secured 12 medals across various sports, finishing fourth overall among the participating institutions. This remarkable achievement showcases IIM-V's growing commitment to nurturing a strong sporting culture alongside its academic excellence.

Gold, Silver, and Bronze Triumphs

IIM-V's athletes delivered outstanding performances in several sports. The team secured gold medals in women's table tennis and futsal, adding to the institute’s medal tally. Along with the gold, the players earned silver medals in cricket, carrom, throwball, frisbee, and pool, both for men and women. The bronze medals came in volleyball (women), table tennis (men), squash (mixed), and football (men), further exemplifying the diverse sporting talent within the institution.

A Strong Showing from IIM-V Athletes

A total of 196 athletes from IIM-Visakhapatnam participated in the three-day event, competing against top teams from several prestigious IIMs, including IIM-Bangalore, IIM-Kozhikode, IIM-Tiruchirappalli, IIM-Shillong, and IIM-Nagpur. The tournament featured 27 sports disciplines, with teams showcasing their skills and determination.

An IIM-V official expressed pride in the institute’s performance, emphasizing that the results reflect the growth of its sporting culture.
