CBSE likely to become International Board: Dharmendra Pradhan
Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that CBSE is expected to become the international board in the Global South.
The Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that due to the growing popularity of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the board can become an international board in the Global South. He said this on the sidelines of the G20 4th working committee meeting for education.
"Recently, I had the chance to interact with a person from Singapore who runs CBSE schools there and in Japan. While CBSE schools in Singapore are for the diaspora, I was surprised to learn about the popularity of the CBSE board and pedagogy in Japan. I was told the mathematics and other subjects' pedagogy is sought after," he said, as reported by Indian Express.
"India's National Education Policy (NEP) is being noticed by the world. NEP can become the model for the emerging economies," he said, as reported by News 18.
He believes that a new generation of entrepreneurs is made possible by NEP's new profound focus on practical education and the global leaders are closely watching the NEP.
Education Minister said that the government is planning for technology-based interventions to help students prepare for the IIT-JEE and NEET competitive examinations.
As per the official statement, CBSE focuses on innovations in teaching-learning methodologies by devising students friendly and students centered paradigms, reforms in examinations and evaluation practices, skill learning by adding job-oriented and job-linked inputs, regularly updating the pedagogical skills of the teachers and administrators by conducting in service training programmes, workshops etc.
