Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow has announced that it has collaborated with Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and IIT BHU to developΒ an audit platform for promoting the efficient use of available oxygen resources. This virtual management platform will be used by the government machinery to optimize oxygen usage and save the life-sustaining gas by cutting down on excessive consumption. Making sure that the software is free from all glitches, it is being prepared through pooled efforts of three top-notch institutes in Uttar Pradesh.

Propelled by the second attack of the COVID pandemic, the current oxygen crisis being witnessed in the state of Uttar Pradesh has necessitated judicial use of the available resources. Where increasing the supply is definitely the need of the hour, the sturdy supervision of the lifesaving gas is equally important. In order to diffuse the ongoing problems and promote better management of oxygen, IIT Kanpur, IIT-BHU (Varanasi) and IIM Lucknow have collaborated to provide this virtual platform.

IIM-L Director Archana Shukla, IIT-K Director Abhay Karandikar, Vikas Dubey from IIT-BHU, (Varanasi), AKTU Vice-Chancellor Vinay Kumar Pathak, Vice-Chancellor of MMUT, Gorakhpur, JP Pandey, Vice-Chancellor of HBTU, Kanpur, Prof Shamsher, MNIT Director (Prayagraj) Rajeev Tiwari, and Additional Professor at SGPGIMS Ashish Kanaujia participated in a virtual meeting on Sunday to deliberate upon the proceedings of the new project.

As per the Uttar Pradesh government, it has converged its attention towards amplifying oxygen requirements in the state capital. In this regard, measures like welcoming the Oxygen Express, airlifting LMO, setting up of O2 plants and so on, are being put into effect to achieve an equilibrium between the demand and supply in Lucknow.
