IIT Delhi Admissions 2021: Application process for postgraduate, PhD courses begins; check details here

The last date to apply is on or before April 24, 2021. As per the schedule released by IIT Delhi, the entrance test and interview will be held between May 10 and June 23. 

IIT Delhi Admissions 2021: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi is now inviting applications for the postgraduate (PG) and PhD programmes. Those who are interested can register on the official website of the institute; i.e. iitd.ac.in. The last date to apply is on or before April 24, 2021. As per the schedule released by IIT Delhi, the entrance test and interview will be held between May 10 and June 23. 

The courses for which IIT Delhi admissions are open are Applied Mechanics, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Material Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Textile and Fibre Engineering, interdisciplinary MTech and MS (Research).

“Admission to PhD, MTech and MS (R) can be the full-time and part-time basis, depending upon the availability of seats. For sponsored or part-time candidates, the details of minimum experience (Full Time) after qualifying degree and as on date of registration are given in the information brochure,” reads an IIT Delhi statement.

IIT Delhi will also allow students to apply for the fourth semester in MDes and MSc programmes for full-time courses.

It must be noted that it is possible for a student to switch from one programme to another any time after one semester of joining. For example, a candidate joining an MTech. programme can apply for the switch to a PhD programme in the same Department (or even in another eligible Department), after completing 12 credits of courses with a minimum CGPA of 8.0. All his/her earned credits, if relevant to the new programme, can be considered in the new programme as well.
