IIT Delhi to start new MTech course in electric mobility, check details here
The new MTech in electric mobility will be multidisciplinary in nature and will cover key aspects related to electric vehicles.
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has introduced a new postgraduate course, MTech in MTech in Electric Mobility. The course will begin from 2021-22 academic session and will be offered by the Centre of Automotive Research and Tribology (CART) at IIT Delhi.
"Candidates interested in IIT Delhi Admission 2021 must note that they need to have four-year BTech or BE degrees in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, automobile engineering and their various iterations will be eligible to apply. They will also need to have qualified for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in any of these engineering disciplines -- electrical engineering (EE), mechanical engineering (ME), production and industrial engineering. Candidates sponsored by various industries, academic or government organisations will also โbe encouraged to applyโ, IIT Delhi said in a statement.

"Depending on the skills they pick up over the two years, graduates of the programme will find jobs in various industries related to electric vehicle OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer). The new PG programme has been designed with the active participation of leading professionals from academia and industry,โ said BK Panigrahi, head, CART.
โMoreover, CART is already actively engaged and working with many industries on forefront projects in EVs. The students will get the opportunity to work with state-of-art laboratory facilit[ies] and will also be exposed to work on various simulation software and HIL platforms.โ The Centre for Automotive Research and Tribology at IIT Delhi โfocuses on conducting high-end research and development in the area of battery-operated electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles, storage and alternate energy sources, autonomous and connected vehicles,โ added the statement.ย
