Candidates must note that IIT Gandhinagar admission for MSc Programme in Cognitive Sciences will be based on an online entrance test and interview.

Centre for Cognitive and Brain Sciences, IIT Gandhinagar, begins the admission application process for MSc Programme in Cognitive Sciences, July 2021. Interested candidates must note that Cognitive Science is the study of the mind - how it comes to be, what it is, and what it does. Candidates must note that the admission will be based on an online entrance test and interview. IIT Gandhinagar will invite a limited number of candidates to appear for the online entrance test scheduled for February 28. The institute will conduct the interview between March 1 to March 3, 2021, based on the academic records and aptitude for cognitive science.

IIT Gandhinagar admission entrance test will consist of comprehension type questions based on given passages and statistical aptitude. However, there is no prescribed syllabus for the entrance test. Meanwhile, the interview will be conducted primarily to test aptitude for Cognitive science and understanding of subjects studied at the undergraduate level. The final selection will be based on academic records, aptitude for cognitive science, written test and interview.

IIT Gandhinagar Admission 2021 Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply for the IIT Gandhinagar MSc Programme in Cognitive Sciences the applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree (e.g. BA, BSc, BTech, BCom, MBBS) in any discipline with a minimum of 55% (5.5 CGPA for students with letter grades/CGPA) aggregate marks for General/OBC category candidates and at least 50% (5.0 CGPA for students with letter grades/CGPA) aggregate marks for SC, ST and PD category candidates in the qualifying degree. Candidates completing Bachelor’s degree in the academic year 2020-21 are also eligible to apply.

Financial Support & Travel Scholarship

After getting admitted to MSc Cognitive Science program, eligible candidates will receive a monthly scholarship of Rs 5,000/-. The stipend support will be renewed per semester subject to a student’s continued satisfactory progress in the program. Meanwhile, the institute encourages MSc students to present their research work at national and international conferences and provides travel scholarships of up to Rs.60000/- to such students. While there is no application fee, applicants are required to furnish a hardcopy of the application form with a photograph and all the necessary documentary evidence in original at the time of interview.
