No, a hostel is not compulsory at IIT Gandhinagar for M.Tech students. However, the college's hostel is very good. Currently, the college has eight hostels. The campus hostels are air-conditioned and have well-furnished rooms. The academic area is just a short distance from the hostels. The student hostels are largely Wi-Fi enabled.

IIT Gandhinagar BTech admission is entrance-based. To get admission in BTech, students must pass Class 12 with an aggregate of 75% from a recognised board. Students must score good in the JEE Main.
