Mumbai University Final year exams 2020: Last date to submit the applications extended until September 20

Mumbai University has extended the last date to submit the application for the final year exams. Students who have not yet applied or need to complete their application can now do so on or before September 20. Maharashtra Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant confirmed the same. Mumbai University final year examinations are scheduled to begin from September 25.
While speaking to the reporters, he said that, "The varsity has extended the period for submission of exam applications to September 20. 2,47,500 students would appear for the exams." Mumbai University has the highest enrolment of students in the state," the Minister said.
Out of the total students who have applied, 1,70,000 are regular students and the rest are the students who would be writing their examination for clearing the backlog. He has clarified that the certificates that will be given to the students will not have mention of exams being conducted during COVID-19 or a COVID certificate, as was feared by many.
Earlier, the certificates from agriculture university in the state had a mention regarding COVID. The move was widely criticised by students and experts alike. Allaying such fears, the minister confirmed that, "The certificate will be normal, a regular piece of paper.”
Mumbai University is all set to begin its final year examination from September 25. The practical exams are already underway. The exams will be conducted in online mode. All students who do not have the facility to appear for the examination online would be allowed to physically appear for the examination, under the strict SOPs and guidelines as laid out. The paper would be in MCQ format.
