DU BTech Programmes Attract 6,030 Applicants

DU BTech Admission 2025: The University of Delhi is offering admissions to its BTech programmes in Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electrical Engineering for the academic year 2025. Apart from this, a total of 53,609 candidates have registered for 82 postgraduate (PG) programs, which offer 13,432 seats including those available through the Non-Collegiate Women’s Education Board (NCWEB). The DU registration window for the above-mentioned BTech programmes opened on May 16 and closed on June 12, 2025.  

DU BTech Admission Based on JEE Mains 2025 Scores

Admission to all BTech courses at Delhi University is strictly based on the marks obtained in the JEE (Mains) Paper I exam 2025. This criterion ensures a merit-based selection process, allowing the top-scorer candidates to secure a seat in their preferred branch of engineering at University of Delhi.

DU BTech Admission 2025 Registration Statistics

During the DU BTech admission registration period, a total of 6,030 candidates registered for the different programmes including Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. Among these applicants, 4,349 are boys while 1,681 are girls.

Special Categories and Quotas

In addition to general applicants for Delhi University BTech programmes, 195 female candidates have applied under the Single Girl Child Quota (SGC), a special provision aimed at promoting gender equality in technical education. Furthermore, 4 candidates have registered under the orphan category, highlighting DU’s commitment to inclusive admissions.

Q: Β  Is DU admission open?

DU admission is open. Admission in Delhi University is based on CUET-UG and CUET-PG scores. Below are the upcoming events for DU admission:

  • University of Delhi (DU) has released the admission cutoff for five-year integrated BA LLB and BBA LLB courses through Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) scores.
  • The CUET PG 2026 registration process for admission to PG courses is expected to begin in Jan 2026.
  • DU CSAS-PG 2025 Spot Round 3 allocations have been released for admission to various PG courses based on the CUET-PG 2025 scores, and the last date for fee payment is Aug 20, 2025.

Q: Β  Can I get admission at DU in a BSc course without CUET?
A:

No, Delhi University offers admission to the BSc programmes at its colleges based on CUET score only. There is no provision for direct admissions. Hence, aspirants must take the Common University Entrance Test (CUET). The national-level exam is conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). It is conducted in different phases. Eligible students can apply on NTA website to take the test. Students seeking admission to DU colleges should select DU college plus preferred course at the time of registration. 

After CUET result declaration, aspirants are required to register on DU CSAS portal. The course and college allotment process is done based on the preferences submitted by the students during the form filling. After final selections, students can pay the admission fee to confirm admission.
