IISc and IIT Gandhinagar collaboration

Indian Institute of Science and Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar have signed Memorandum of Understanding to foster academic and research collaborations. This partnership will help students and researchers at both institutes to pursue joint research projects in areas of mutual interest and workshops and access infrastructure and lab facilities at both institutions. This will also foster student exchange from IITGN to IISc for academic and research programmes.

Apart from these, this will also enable students who completed their third year BTech at IITGN to join IISc directly for their Masters degree after one selection process. Students completing their course requirements will receive their BTech and MTech degrees from IITGN and IISc respectively.

"We are excited to embark on this innovative partnership with IIT Gandhinagar, which will enable BTech students to seamlessly transition to MTech and PhD programmes after their third year of undergraduate studies. IISc offers more than two dozen specialisations in MTech programmes, and a majority of our research and course programmes are open for direct admission to graduates from Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs)," says Prof G Rangarajan, Director, IISc.

"As an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Science, this collaboration holds a special personal significance for me, as it represents an important institutional step forward for both IIT Gandhinagar and IISc. IITGN has always been a student-first institute – in our actions, our culture, and our philosophy – and this partnership reflects yet another way in which we prioritise our students’ growth, welfare, and long-term success," says Prof Rajat Moona, Director, IITGN.
