IISc Bengaluru BTech admission will now be conducted through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) beginning 2026. Inrerested candidates with a valid JEE Advanced 2026 score will now have to register at JoSAA portal and follow the counselling procedure. JoSAA 2026 Registration will start on June 2, 2026 at josaa.nic.in.

The admission process for BTech course at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) will now be through Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA), this year onwards. Students will have to register at JoSAA 2026 portal to participate in the counselling cum admission process.

The Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru offers BTech program in Mathematics and Computing. Admission to this course is provided basis JEE Advanced rank.ย Until last year, the admission process was managed by the institute itself, wherein all interested candidates with a valid JEE Advanced score had to fill the IISc Bengaluru BTech application form and report to the institute to participate in the counselling/admission process.

This change will streamline the IISc BTech admission process. Candidates will now have to fill the JoSAA application form through the portal josaa.nic.in. JoSAA 2026 registration will start on June 2.

IISc Bengaluru offers only two undergraduate programs - BTech in Mathematics & Computing and BS in Research. BTech admission is through JEE Advanced while admission in BS program is through IAT (IISER Admission Test).

JEE Advanced 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on May 17, 2026. Registration for the exam will start on April 6 for foreign nationals, whereas for Indian candidates, application forms will be available from April 23, 2026.

Q: ย  Will JEE Advanced be also held for BArch admission at the IITs?

NO. Barch admisison in the IITs is based on JEE Advanced and Architecture Aptitude Test (AAT). For Barch admisison t the IITs, candidates have to first qualify JEE Advanced and then appear for AAT.

Only those candidates who qualify the JEE Main exam 2026 with scores above the cutoff percentile can appear in IIT JEE Advanced. NTA JEE is conducted in two sessions in January and April. The session 1 is currently ongoing with last exam on January 28, 2026.
