IIT Delhi and IndiGo Collaborate to Drive Solutions for Airline Sector

The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and IndiGo have entered into a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster innovation and develop impactful solutions for the airline industry. This partnership reflects the shared commitment of both organisations to leverage advanced research and innovation in tackling the complex challenges within aviation. The collaboration aims to set new standards in operational efficiency and enhance customer-centric services across the sector.

This partnership will harness cutting-edge research to elevate customer experiences and optimize operational efficiency. By analyzing travel history, demographic profiles, and geo-IP data, the collaboration aims to offer IndiGo passengers personalized recommendations for flight deals and ancillary services, including travel insurance, meal packages, and hotel bookings.

At the same time, the IIT Delhi team will collaborate with IndiGo to design advanced disruption management strategies for effectively managing unforeseen changes in flight and crew schedules. By integrating data across key areas such as fleet recovery, crew recovery, and revenue estimation, the partnership aims to minimize disruptions for both passengers and crew while maximizing operational efficiency and revenue.

Speaking on the collaboration, Prof. Preeti Ranjan Panda, Dean of Corporate Relations IIT Delhi, said, β€œAt IIT Delhi, we are committed to advancing research that addresses real-world challenges and benefits society and industry. Q: Β  Is IIT Delhi hostel air-conditioned?
A:

Yes, some of the hostels of IIT Delhi are air-conditioned. However, non-air-conditioned hostels are also available. The hostels are allotted to the students based on availability. Some lecture theatres are also air-conditioned. Apart from this, some common areas on the campus or hostel also have air conditioning or air coolers.

Q: Β  How is the infrastructure of IIT Delhi?
A:

The IIT Delhi campus is spread across 325 acres. It is divided into four areas for administrative and logistical purposes. Thus, the campus has a West Campus (hostel area), East campus (residential area), Main Administrative Building and Academic area. IIT Delhi infrastructure advancements and operations are taken care by a dedicated Infrastructure team that works under the administrative unit. In addition, it also keeps coming up with new projects for the advacement of the IIT Delhi infrastructure. 

Q: Β  Is hostel compulsory at IIT Delhi?
A:
It is voluntary to opt for the hostel facility at IIT Delhi. In fact, if a candidate lives within a 15 km radius of the campus, they won't be allotted a hostel room at all. However, the institute houses 11 boys' hostels and two girls' hostels which is enough to accommodate the willing candidates. IIT Delhi has a technologically advanced campus spread across 325 acres of land. The premier institute has one of the best campuses in India state-of-the-art infrastructure, modern amenities and research laboratories. Currently, the Deemed University has six distinct schools, including Bharti School of Telecommunication Technology & Management, Amar Nath & Shashi Khosla School of Information Technology, Kusuma School of Biological Sciences, School of Artificial Intelligence, School of Public Policy and School of Interdisciplinary Research.
