IIT Delhi Open House aims to address questions related to course structures, career prospects, research exposure, campus life etc.

The Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) will organize Open House events for candidates who have qualified the prestigious JEE Advanced 2025 examination. The Open house is an initiative by the Office of Academic Outreach and New Initiatives at IIT Delhi under the 'Experience IITD' program.

The objective of the Open House is to help JEE Advanced 2025 qualifiers make informed decisions by helping them understand the academics, research, extra- and co-curricular activities, and campus life of IIT Delhi. Through these sessions, the Institute also aims to address questions related to course structures, hostel life, career prospects, research exposure and international collaborations.

This year marks a significant milestone, as the Open House will be organised for the first time across three major cities: Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. Through organizing it in multiple cities, IIT Delhi aims to reach a wider audience, offering students from different regions the opportunity to engage directly with esteemed faculty, students, and alumni of IIT Delhi.

The IIT Delhi Open House 2025 will kick off with an online session, “IIT Delhi Calling”, on 6th June (Friday) at 6:00 PM IST. The main event will take place on 7th June (Saturday) in hybrid mode at IIT Delhi (09:45 AM – 05:00 PM) and offline at ICT Mumbai (11:00 AM – 02:00 PM). The final session will be held in Bengaluru on 8th June (Sunday) from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at IISc Bangalore. The details are available at https://josaa.nic.in/open-house/.

The Open House at IIT Delhi will have an interactive session featuring the Director of IIT Delhi, Prof. Rangan Banerjee, along with the Deans of Academics and Student Affairs, who will provide insights into the Institute’s academic excellence, inclusive environment, and student support systems. Participants will also get a chance to hear from the in-charge of the Office of Career Services (OCS), who will shed light on the range of career, placement, and internship opportunities available at IIT Delhi.

A special segment will highlight the entrepreneurial ecosystem at the Institute, showcasing how students are empowered to translate their ideas into impactful ventures. There will also be a session on the UG admissions at IITD’s Abu Dhabi campus. The session will shed light on the admission process and life at IITD-AD. Besides, it will be the best opportunity to experience the beautiful campus of IIT Delhi.

Q:   How to practice time management for JEE Advanced exam?
A:

Effective time management is crucial for JEE Advanced preparation because it allows you to cover the vast syllabus systematically, practice enough, and ensure that you're ready for the time-bound nature of the exam.

  • Full-Length Mock Tests: Practice full-length mock tests under exam conditions (time-bound). Aim to complete each section within the allotted time. For JEE Advanced, you have 3 hours for each paper (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics). Aim to complete each subject in around 1 hour, leaving the last 10-15 minutes to review.
  • Timed Problem Solving: Regularly solve questions in a time-bound manner. Start with simpler questions and gradually increase the difficulty as you become faster.
  • Identify Weaknesses: After each test, analyze your performance. Identify areas where you lost time and work on improving your speed and accuracy in those areas.
  • Monitor Your Pace: Keep track of how long you are taking per question and try to finish each section on time. JEE Advanced is about both accuracy and speed.
  • Build Stamina: Gradually increase the duration of your mock tests to build stamina. By the time the exam comes, you should be comfortable solving the paper for 6 hours (two papers).

The Open House will also feature interactive sessions with faculty, current students, and alumni, who will share their experiences in academics, research, extracurricular activities, and campus life of IIT Delhi. Personal stories from IITD students will provide a candid and inspiring perspective on life on campus.

To enhance the experience, student clubs and societies at IIT Delhi will present live demonstrations and exhibits, offering attendees a glimpse into the myriads of co-curricular opportunities that exist at IITD. These live demonstrations and one-to-one counselling sessions by IITD students will be an exclusive highlight of the Open House held at the IIT Delhi campus, offering attendees a unique opportunity to experience the Institute’s vibrant student culture firsthand.

IIT Delhi warmly invites all JEE Advanced 2025 qualified candidates to attend these sessions.
