IIT Madras has launched the ‘AI for All’ 2.0 initiative that offers free AI courses through SWAYAM Plus to school teachers of all classes nationwide.

IIT Madras 'AI for All’ 2.0: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has extended its ‘AI for All’ 2.0 initiative to school teachers from Kindergarten to Class XII across India. Delivered online through SWAYAM Plus in partnership with IIT Madras Pravartak Technologies Foundation, these courses were launched by Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras. Teachers can register for any of the six courses by October 10, 2025, at https://swayam-plus.swayam2.ac.in/ai-for-all-courses.

Along with the five earlier offered courses (AI in Physics, AI in Chemistry, AI in Accounting, Cricket Analytics with AI, and AI/ML using Python), a new course - ‘AI for Educators’ is being added with a special focus on K-12 teachers. They have a duration between 25 and 45 hours and are provided free of cost. Teachers can enroll in these courses to get AI knowledge for improving teaching, assessment, and student engagement. Developed to be inclusive, free and accessible, the courses cater not only to engineering students but also to learners from arts, science, commerce, and other fields.

IIT Madras’ “AI for All” initiative: Courses available for registration: 

  • AI for Educators: This covers AI knowledge, tools, and strategies to enhance teaching and engagement for K-12 and aspiring teachers.
  • AI in Physics: Applies ML and neural networks to real-world physics problems for UG/PG students & faculty.
  • AI in Chemistry: For UG/PG students & faculty.
  • AI in Accounting: For commerce & management learners.
  • Cricket Analytics with AI: For UG/PG students & faculty.
  • AI/ML using Python

Addressing the launch event, Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said, “Artificial intelligence is reshaping the future of learning, and K-12 teachers play a vital role in bringing this change into classrooms. By equipping them with AI skills, we are not only strengthening education but also contributing to nation-building.”

Inviting school teachers from nationwide to apply for this initiative, Prof. R. Sarathi, Dean (Planning), IIT Madras and SWAYAM Plus Coordinator, IIT Madras, said, “No prior experience in AI or coding is required. Basic digital literacy and enthusiasm to learn are sufficient. The Courses are specially curated by experts from the IIT Madras ecosystem, drawing on deep academic and industry experience. The courses National Credit Framework (NCrF)-aligned and employability-focused, involving Hands-on activities, real datasets, and case study-based learning.”
