IIT Madras Rolls Out ‘School Connect’ Across India to Inspire Young Minds

IIT Madras has broadened its school outreach by launching the ‘School Connect’ program on a national scale, aiming to engage and inspire students across India.

IIT Madras School Connect Program: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras has expanded its ‘School Connect’ Program, increasing the number of courses offered to school students across India. Previously limited to two courses: ‘Data Science and Artificial Intelligence’ and ‘Electronic Systems’, the program features 10 online hands-on certificate courses designed for students of Classes X, XI, and XII. Registrations are now open for the August 2025 batch, with the deadline set for 25th July 2025. Schools can register and enrol their students at: code.iitm.ac.in/schoolconnect/.

IIT Madras School Connect Program

This initiative empowers school students, particularly those in Classes X, XI, and XII, to explore emerging fields and make informed choices about their academic and career paths. Each course includes assignments and an optional project, offering students valuable hands-on experience. The program will be conducted in three batches during the academic year: August, October, and January, enabling students to enrol in up to three different courses annually.

Each course spans 8 weeks, offering practical exposure in cutting-edge subjects.

1. Introduction to Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
2. Introduction to Electronic Systems
3. Introduction to Architecture and Design
4. Fun with Math and Computing
5. Math Unplugged: Games and Puzzles
6. Introduction to Ecology
7. Introduction to Engineering Biological Systems
8. Introduction to Law
9. Fundamentals of Aerospace
10. Humanities Unplugged

Highlighting the institute’s broader vision for school engagement, Prof. V. Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said, “At IIT Madras, we believe that early exposure to emerging fields can spark curiosity and shape future innovators.
