IIT Madras 2025: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras Teaching Learning Centre (TLC) is launching a free, in-person residential training programme in STEM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) and Biotechnology for college faculty. Organised under the Malaviya Mission Teacher Training Programme (MMTTP), the initiative aims to build the capacity of educators teaching undergraduate and postgraduate science courses across the country.
Interested faculty can register at https://fundaspring.com/products/capacity-building-stem-faculty-iit-madras-malaviya-mission. The nine-day STEM training programme will accommodate 50 participants per batch, with shortlisted candidates informed via email. Eligible applicants include college faculty teaching Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Biotechnology at the undergraduate or postgraduate level. The sessions will be held at the TLC Hall and Central Library, IIT Madras campus.

Prof. Edamana Prasad, Chairman, Teaching Learning Centre, IIT Madras, said, “The program is designed to elevate teaching effectiveness, enrich student learning experiences and cultivate an engaged and inspired academic environment. Its objectives include strengthening student performance, encouraging higher enrollment in STEM disciplines and advancing diversity and inclusion, all of which align with the Union Education Ministry’s commitment to ongoing enhancement and innovation within India’s education sector. Faculty members from both public and private colleges are eligible to participate, and assessment and certification will be conducted under the guidance of the MMTTP framework.”
