The counselling for JEE Mains 2026 rank holders will be done via JoSAA. The registrations for JoSAA counselling is set to start from June 2.

1. Registration: Candidates have to register on the JoSAA website using JEE Main credentials.

4. Seat Confirmation by Candidates/ Online Fee Payment/Institute Reporting: After seat allocation, candidates will have to confirm their admission by selecting the freeze/float option. IIT Roorkee will conduct the JEE Advanced 2026 on May 17. The exam will consist of two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2, both consisting of questions from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. It is compulsory to appear in both papers. The total duration of the exams is 6 hours, conducted in two 3-hour shifts on a single day. • Must have passed and secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.
• Must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.

• Year of passing class 12th: The candidates should have appeared for the class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024, 2025 or 2026.
• Subject combination needed for BE/BTech programmes: Physics, Mathematics, and any one of Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical Vocation subject, a language, any subject other than the above four  (the subject with the highest marks will be considered).

JEE Advanced 2026 registration for JEE Mains qualified candidates will start on April 23. The last date to apply is May 2.

• Unique candidates: A total of 16,04,854 unique candidates registered for the exam across both sessions, with 15,38,474 unique candidates actually appearing.
• Number of candidates in session 1: The January Session (Session 1) saw 13,55,293 registrations and 13,04,653 attendees
• Number of candidates in session 2: April Session (Session 2) recorded 11,10,904 registrations and 10,34,330 attendees.
• Common candidates in sessions 1 and 2: 8,61,343 candidates registered for both sessions, and 8,00,516 of those common candidates appeared for both examinations.
• Result withheld: 113 candidates did not get their results due to unfair means and incomplete documentation.
• Number of candidates qualifying for JEE Advanced: 2,50,182 students have qualified for IIT JEE.

NTA has released the JEE Main 2026 session 2 scorecard under the respective logins of the candidates on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in. The candidates can now download their JEE Mains result using their application number and date of birth.

As per various reports, the All India Rank (AIR) 1 holder is Kabeer Chhillar.

The 2026 academic session has set a massive benchmark with 16,04,854 unique candidates registering for Paper 1 across both January and April sessions combined.

In a big achievement this year, Mallavarapu Aasna has scored the highest among all the female JEE Main toppers with 99.9982287 percentile. However, no female candidate could score 100 percentile this year. 

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have dominated the toppers list, with multiple students from these states achieving a perfect 100 NTA score in the JEE Main 2026 Paper 1.

NTA has withheld the results of 57 candidates in Session 2 and 54 candidates in Session 1 for using unfair means. Additionally, 56 results are withheld due to document discrepancies.

Female participation remains strong with 5,56,793 registered candidates in Session 2. Out of these, 5,31,593 female candidates appeared for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) across various exam centres.

In the April Session, 10,48,061 male candidates registered for Paper 1, while 10,06,875 appeared. This demographic continues to represent the largest share of the JEE Main candidate pool.

The JEE Mains 2026 Session 2 (April) examination saw a high attendance rate of 93.11%. Out of 11,10,904 registered candidates in session 2, 10,34,330 students actually appeared across the various shifts conducted globally.

For students who appeared in both January and April sessions, NTA has confirmed that the best NTA score of the two sessions has been considered for the final JEE Mains merit list and ranking.

The National Testing Agency has officially declared the results for JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech). Students can now check their NTA scores on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in.
