MHT CET 2026 Syllabus Out: Check Subject-Wise Topics and Exam Pattern
The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell has released the MHT CET 2026 syllabus and exam pattern. The MHT CET 2026 exam syllabus includes topics from both classes 11th and 12th. Check complete details below.
The State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra, has published the syllabus and paper pattern for the MHT CET 2026 exam. The syllabus for MHT CET is based on the SCERT Maharashtra class 11th and 12th curriculum, with around 20% of the questions from class 11th topics, while 80% from class 12th. PCM group aspirants have to cover physics, chemistry and mathematics, while the PCB group aspirants have to study biology instead of mathematics.

MHT CET 2026 Syllabus
To prepare for the exam, candidates have to study the entire syllabus of class 12th (2025-26) of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics subjects as prescribed by State Council Of Educational Research And Training, Maharashtra along with a select few topics from class 11th, which are listed below.
- Physics - Vectors, Error Analysis, Motion in a Plane, Laws of Motion, Gravitation, Thermal Properties of Matter, Sound, Optics, Electrostatics, Semiconductors
- Chemistry - Some Basic Concepts of Chemistry, Structure of Atom, Chemical Bonding, Redox Reactions, Elements of Group 1 and 2, States of Matter (Gaseous and Liquids), Adsorption and Colloids (Surface Chemistry), Hydrocarbons, Basic Principles of Organic Chemistry, Chemistry in Everyday Life
- Mathematics - Trigonometry II, Straight Line, Circle, Probability, Complex Numbers, Permutations and Combinations, Functions, Limits, Continuity, Conic Section
- Biology - Biomolecules, Respiration and Energy Transfer, Human Nutrition, Excretion and Osmoregulation
MHT CET 2026 Exam Pattern
As for the MHT CET 2026 exam pattern, the exam will be held for 180 minutes. The paper will have 3 sections and each section is of 100 marks. Each question of physics, chemistry and biology is of 1 mark, while each question of mathematics is of 2 marks. There is no negative marking in the MHT CET exam. Students must note that the exam difficulty level will be at par with the JEE Mains for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and the difficulty level for Biology will be at par with NEET.

MHT CET paper do not have negative marking for incorrect answer. In MHT CET exam, Physics and Chemistry question is of 1 marks. No marks are deducted for unattempted questions. For any question, if none of the options is found correct or a question is found to be wrong or dropped, then full marks will be awarded to all candidates irrespective of the fact whether the question has been attempted or not attempted by the candidate.
