SATHEE by IIT Kanpur Helps Punjab Govt School Students Achieve 74% Growth in JEE 2025 Success Rate

JEE 2025 success rates among Punjab government school students have soared by 74%, following mentoring and support through IIT Kanpur’s SATHEE initiative.

JEE Main 2025 Result: As mentioned on IIT Kanpur's official website, a total of 85 students from Punjab’s government non-SOE (Schools of Excellence) schools have qualified for the JEE Main 2025 up from 49 last year marking a 74% increase attributed to SATHEE, a free mentoring and academic support initiative developed by IIT Kanpur in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Education.

Officials from the Punjab School Education Department credited SATHEE’s structured learning resources for bridging the gap between board curricula and the demands of national-level entrance exams, contributing to the rise in successful candidates. Additionally, officials from the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Punjab, revealed plans to expand SATHEE's outreach, aiming to provide more deserving students across the state with the opportunity to pursue admissions in India’s top engineering institutes.

Launched in 2023, SATHEE provides a structured preparation program for competitive exams like JEE and NEET to students in government schools across India. The initiative offers live interactive classes, short-term crash courses, and recorded lectures from IIT faculty, alumni, and senior students. It also includes weekly practice tests, full-length mock exams, personalized one-on-one mentoring with IIT undergraduates, and a study plan aligned with the Punjab School Education Board syllabus.

In alignment with the National Education Policy 2020's focus on mother-tongue instruction, IIT Kanpur will introduce Punjabi-dubbed lectures on the SATHEE platform later this academic year. This initiative aims to make complex STEM concepts more accessible to first-generation learners and expand the platform's reach and effectiveness.
