Sona College of Technology Placement: Sona College of Technology in the first phase of campus placements for its BTech Class of 2025, with 82% of students receiving job offers across core engineering disciplines including Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil as well as emerging specialisations such as Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, Analytics, and Data Science.

Nearly 100 Students Bag Offers Above INR 10 LPA

In the first phase of the placement season, nearly 100 students at Sona College of Technology secured job offers with starting salaries exceeding INR 10 lakh per annum. The highlights include over 54 offers from leading steel manufacturer JSW and more than 32 international placements in Japan. Top recruiters offering premium packages included Informatica, DevRev, Cisco, SurveySparrow, EmbedUR, and Mr. Cooper. The average salary stood at INR 5.6 lakh per annum, reflecting a 19% increase over the previous year.

Top IT Recruiters at Sona College of Technology

Leading IT services firms, including Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, Infosys, and LTI Mindtree, collectively hired nearly 55% of the graduating batch. While a few regular recruiters opted out this season, 25 first-time recruiters stepped in, extending 59 offers with an average CTC of INR 5.5 lakh per annum. Additionally, 36 manufacturing companies recruited candidates with annual packages ranging from INR 4 lakh to INR 10 lakh.

12 Mechanical Engineering graduates, six from Mechatronics, five from Civil Engineering, and nine from Computer Science, IT, Analytics, and Data Science were placed in Japan-based companies, excluding those recruited by Indian tech firms based on their Japanese language proficiency at N4 and N5 levels.

All Civil Engineering students secured placements with 15 top recruiters, receiving an average salary package of INR 4.5 lakh up from INR 4 lakh last year. Four students filed patents for their innovative technologies, adding to the department’s impressive Hackathon wins. Additionally, around 20 students will be joining their family-run civil engineering consulting and contracting businesses.

“The placement performance of the 2025 batch is an outcome of the industry-aligned curriculum updated with AI/ML elements, rigorous internships, and global orientation that Sona College of Technology consistently delivers. With 32 placements from companies in Japan this year the total number of Sona graduates employed in Japan is just two short of 100-mark,” says Prof SRR Senthilkumar, Principal, Sona College of Technology.
