IIT Guwahati has postponed GATE admit card 2026 release date. Exam hall ticket was supposed to be released on January 2, but was postponed but for some unknown reason. As per the official update, revised date for GATE 2026 admit card will be made available soon at gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Candidates have been eagerly waiting for the GATE 2026 admit card to be released. However, delay in the hall ticket has caused curiosity and confusion among students. It’s been more than 10 days, and there is no update from officials regarding admit card download date. Read below to know what to expect in hall ticket release date, exam dates, and other important details.Β 

This year, IIT Guwahati is conducting Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering for 30 branch papers on February 7, 8, 14, and 15, 2026, in two shifts. The subject-wise exam dates have been released. However, GATE hall ticket 2026 is yet to be released, and reason for delay is still unknown.Β

When will GATE 2026 admit card be released?

Looking at past year timeline, admit card of GATE 2026 was released 25 days before the exam date, which makes the release date to be around 2nd week of Jan (between Jan 13 -18). This time frame is enough for students to rectify their hall ticket (in case of discrepancies) or plan their travel for MTech engineering entrance exam.

Also, another reason for GATE admit card 2026 delay could be because of recent IIT council meeting (conducted among 23 IITs) to redesign MTech and PhD curriculum as per the industry standards, and integrating AI, machine learning, and data science concept in syllabus. For now, reasons are unknown.

Will GATE 2026 exam dates be postponed?

Looking at the past year’s trends, IIT Guwahati might not revise dates of the GATE exam. Therefore, students must have a clear mindset and not think of exam getting postponed and prepare accordingly. Revise their chapters and solve as many PYQs and mock test to stay acquainted with basics and concepts.Β

  • Check all details properly and take printout
