The Institute of Sports Science & Technology (ISST) launched the Dr. P. C. Shejwalkar Athlete Scholarship Program, aimed at empowering deserving athletes to excel both in sports and academics. Acknowledging the significance of a well-rounded approach to sports education, ISST is offering these scholarships to ensure athletes are not only physically trained but also equipped with the essential management and strategic skills needed to thrive in the competitive sports arena.

The scholarship is available for a range of classroom and distance education courses, allowing athletes to pursue their academic aspirations while continuing their sports training. Through this initiative, ISST aims to develop a new generation of well-rounded sports professionals who excel both on and off the field.

Dr. Vipul Lunawat, Director of ISST, shared, "With initiatives like Khelo India and various government schemes supporting athletes, it is imperative for us as educators and sports enthusiasts to contribute to their development. Since its establishment in 2008, ISST has been a pioneer in sports and fitness education in India. As the nation’s first dedicated institute for this field, ISST offers a broad spectrum of undergraduate and postgraduate programs designed to develop athletes, managers, and sports support staff.

ISST offers a diverse range of programs, including an MBA in Sports Management, a Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Management, and a full-time UGC-recognized BSc in Sports Management. These courses cover key areas such as sports event management, facility management, sports law and governance, athlete management, sports tourism, and strategic management.
