CLAT Result 2025 LIVE Updates: Delhi HC directs Consortium to Revise Results, Counselling Dates, Steps to Download

The CLAT scorecard 2025 will contain the following exam information:

Note: The CLAT Consortium will not send hard copies of the scorecard to any candidate.

Candidates can access their CLAT 2025 revised results by following these steps:

CLAT 2025 merit list will be released by the Consortium of National Law Universities, mentioning the names and ranks of candidates shortlisted for the seat allotment process. The Consortium of NLUs will publish CLAT 2025 invite list once the CLAT Revised Result 2025 is announced.

Note: There are 3, 213 seats for UG courses, and 1,217 seats for PG courses. The candidates who qualified CLAT 2025 will be shortlisted for admission rounds after they complete counseling registration and eligibility-related documentation.

The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025 for undergraduate programs was conducted on December 1, 2024, with results announced on December 7, 2024. Subsequently, the results faced legal challenges due to alleged inaccuracies in the answer key. On April 23, 2025, the Delhi HC has directed the Consortium to publish the CLAT 2025 Revised Result within four weeks. However, no official CLAT 2025 Revised Result Date has been announced until now.

In case, two or more candidates score the same marks in CLAT 2025, the Consortium will follow the sequence given below to decide the merit rank for CLAT Result:

The reservation criteria are provided for certain categories recognized by the Government of India 

• Scheduled Caste
• Scheduled Tribe
• Other Backward Classes
• Economically Weaker Section
• Women
• Person With Disability
• Wards of Serving/ Retired/ Defence (Army) Personnels
• Dependants of Deference Personnels 
• Kashmiri Migrant
• Jammu & Kashmir 

Apart from the above categories, each NLU has its state domicile quota reserved horizontally in all above categories. The percentage of state domicile reservation is different for all participating NLUs, which is confirmed only at the time of admission and seat allotment process every year.

Candidates participating in CLAT 2025 counselling must keep the following documents ready:

• Class 10 and 12 mark sheets

• Transfer certificate
• Migration certificate
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• Income certificate (if applicable)
• Domicile certificate (if applicable)

To understand how this impacts your final score, let’s recap the CLAT 2025 marking scheme:

• Correct Answer: +1 mark
• Incorrect Answer: -0.25 mark (negative marking)
• Unattempted Question: 0 mark

Candidates will be able to check the CLAT result once it is out by following the steps mentioned below:

The pleas in various high courts were filed across the country, which were transferred to the Delhi High Court by the Supreme Court. The petition to transfer was filled by the Consortium of National Law Universities.  Many petitions were filed in High Courts of Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, against the CLAT 2025 result.

While CLAT UG 2025 hearings were in progress, another batch that challenged the CLAT PG 2025 exam results is pending to be considered before the bench.

The Bench of Delhi HC decided on the CLAT 2025 petitions and directed the Consortium to republish and renotify the CLAT 2025 Results within four weeks. The Judgment copy will be available on the Delhi High Court website shortly.

A recent poll conducted by Shiksha reveals that 53% of CLAT 2025 aspirants advocate for the CLAT 2025 examination to be re-conducted, citing significant procedural irregularities and legal disputes that have cast a shadow over its integrity.​ The Delhi HC today will be announcing its verdict on CLAT UG Result 2025 and will begin proceedings for CLAT PG 2025.

The Consortium of National Law Universities will release the CLAT 2025 merit list, the merit list will mention the names and ranks of candidates shortlisted for the seat allotment process. The Consortium of NLUs will publish CLAT 2025 invite list once the CLAT Result 2025 is announced. 

The revised CLAT 2025 results will impact the candidate rankings and admission at the NLUs. As the corrections in evaluation will lead to improved merit positions for some, while others may see a drop. Since NLU seat allotments and cut-offs are determined by rank, any changes in the results will have a direct bearing on admissions.

The single judge of Delhi High Court had already found the two answers of the CLAT 2025 wrong in December 2024 based on the petition filed initially, and asked the Consortium to revise the result of the petitioners, however, the Consortium moved to appeal against that decision. 

The CLAT 2025 counselling process has been delayed. Initially, the counselling was scheduled to begin on December 11, 2024, with the first allotment list expected on December 26, 2024. However, due to a Delhi High Court order directing the Consortium to revisit the merit list, the release of the first admission list has been postponed. 

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has yet to announce a revised counselling schedule. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official CLAT website (consortiumofnlus.ac.in) for updates.

The court has said that the individual questions over which the objections were raised are analyzed in detail by the Bench and the same will be uploaded for the concerned candidates shortly online. 

The High Court has accepted some objections raised by the candidates, while some objections have also been rejected. The court has also refused to consider the objections that were not received within the objection submission window period as directed. 

The bench comprising Justice Tushar Rao Gedela and Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya decided on the petitions received challenging the result of the CLAT 2025 UG exam. CLAT 2025 was held in December 2024 for admission to UG Law courses at various NLUs. 

The Consortium of NLUs has not announced the CLAT 2025 Revised Result Release Date yet. The decision to revise the result is taken by the Delhi HC during the hearing. 

Delhi High Court has accepted a few objections to CLAT 2025 answer key, considering that, the HC has directed the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) to reconsider the final list of selected candidates and republish the same within four weeks.

The Delhi HC has begun the hearing of petition on CLAT UG. The court is likely to announce the CLAT UG Judgement soon.

Therefore, it becomes essential for a candidate to score well in CLAT exam, in order to get a higher rank in the merit list

The CLAT 2025 seat allotment list will include the following information:

1. Name of the candidate selected for admission.
2. All India Rank (AIR) of the selected candidates.
3. Category of the candidates, including both vertical and horizontal classifications.
4. Admit card number and application number of the selected candidates.

The Delhi HC will announce the CLAT UG judgement on April 23, 2025 at 2:30 PM. The judgement will be announced for a total of 11 petitions in the CLAT UG exam.

The verdict on CLAT UG 2025 will be delivered by a division bench of the Delhi High Court, comprising Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela.

The Delhi High Court will hear the CLAT PG 2025 petitions on May 2, 2025. The Division Bench comprising the Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela is set to hear the cases related to CLAT PG. As per the cause list, 3 cases have been listed for the CLAT PG hearing 2025.

According to the cause list uploaded on the court's website, a bench of Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela will pass the verdict on April 23 at 2:30 pm.

CLAT 2025 Invite List refers to the list of qualifying candidates who are eligible to participate in the counselling process. The CLAT 2025 invite list will be declared by the Consortium after the announcement of the CLAT 2025 merit list.

During CLAT counselling, candidates will be provided the option to choose from three options; i.e. freeze, float and exit. Candidates can understand all options below:

Freeze Option: In case a candidate is happy with the seat alloted to him/her then they can freeze it. With this they won't be allowed to appear in the further rounds of counselling. If a candidate freezes the seat, it means that the candidate is confirming their seat at the allotted National Law University (NLU).

Float Option: If a candidate is not happy with the seat allotted to them and wants to pariticpate in further rounds of counselling they can select the float option. This option mean that candidate is accepting the seat allotted to them but is willing to pariticpate in further rouns of counselling for a better college. Candidate must note that in case they choose the float option and is allotted a seat in the next round then the seat allotted in the previous round will be forfeited.

Exit Option: During the counselling process, if a candidate feels that they don't want to pariticipate further, then they may choose an option to exit. If they choose this option, it means that they are withdrawing from the counselling process and they will not be considered for further round of counselling. 

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) will conduct CLAT 2025 counselling in online mode. The whole counselling process for CLAT is conducted in online mode. Candidates have to register online to participate in the counselling. Eligible candidates who qualify the exam can register on the official website for the counselling. After that, they have to pay fee to complete the registration process. After registration, candidates have to declare choices for college and course seeking admission into. 

The counselling fee for CLAT 2025 is INR 30,000 for general/OBC category, and INR 20,000, for SC/ST/OBC/BC/EWS/PWD categories. The CLAT counselling fee can only be paid in online mode on the official website of the law entrance exam. The counselling fee candidate need to pay as a token amount against their allotted seat to secure it. After this, candidates will be required to pay the remaining fee against their course, which is the tuition fee+ non-refundable charges+ refundable charges and more. In case, candidates choose to withdraw / exit from their allotted after they freeze/ float, and have paid the counselling fee, then they will get a refund of their amount after deduction of INR 5,000 from it. However, full amount will be refunded only in case when the candidate did not freeze/ float their allotted seat.
