NIFT 2026 LIVE Updates: Question Paper Analysis (OUT), Section-wise Difficulty Level, Student Review, Good Attempts

Eligibility Criteria for B.F. Tech are:

• Passed the plus 2 level examination in the 10+2 pattern of examination from any recognized Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi/Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi with Mathematics. OR
• A pass grade in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects with Mathematics. OR
• 3 or 4 years diploma in any branch of Engineering recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education after secondary examination/10th standard. OR
• Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in foreign countries recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 system with Mathematics. OR
• General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level with Mathematics/International Baccalaureate (IB).

NIFT Stage 1 results will be out in the month of April 2026 for all the programmes.

For NIFT B.Des, General Category, 40 - 50 is the goodscore for the general category, for OBC, it will be around 30, for SC/ST, it will be around 30.

For B.F Tech: 95+ for General, 80 for OBC, 60 for SC/ST

Expected Cut off for Categories:

Candidate 1: GK was tough. Most of the questions were out of the box.

Candidate 2: Paper was easy, but CAT was bit lengthy.

Candidate 3: Reasoning was easy.

NIFT Question paper will be out along with the NIFT Response Sheet.

Some of the questions of GAT are

Maths:

• Perimeter
• Permutation and combination
• Decoding and decoding
• Water images
• Paper cutting
• Area and volume

GK Questions were tough:

• Government schemes
• Painters and paiting
• Folkdance and history
• Brand and logos
• Dance forms
• Architechture

Overall, the paper was of moderate level.

There was a question on:

• Draw a bird feeder (30marks)
• There was a theme given (30marks): They had to draw based on the riverbank festival, Rural Weekly Haat.
• Product design question (40marks): Draw a product: Water tap, bicycle, stool ( for Old age, street vednor and office vendor)

Students found them easy to moderate level.

Most of the questions were from the grammar part. Students found them easy. Some of the students found the maths part tough.

NIFT CAT and GAT exam is over now. According to the students CAT was of moderate level, but a bit lengthy and time consuming.

NIFT Quantitative ability questions were asked from order and ranking, percentage, series, percentage.

NIFT GAT 2026 was not very difficult, according to most of the candidates. The exam was of moderate level. GK had 18 questions from Static GK.

NIFT GAT Paper Analysis: Analytical and Logical Ability section had questions from Syllogism, number series, direction, numeric, etc.

NIFT CAT, the creative ability test, is ongoing for NIFT UG and PG programmes. It will conclude at 6 PM.

Seats in NIFT 2026 are allocated based on candidates' ranks in the entrance exam, performance during the counseling process, and the availability of seats in various courses and campuses. The allocation follows a merit-based system, so completing all the counseling formalities is essential to secure your admission.

NIFT GAT had grammar questions. The questions were of moderate level. They were not very difficult.

There were 25 questions from GK and current affairs. The questions were on brands, logos, regional art, painting and craft. There were also questions on architecture.

NIFT GAT 2026 was of easy to moderate level. There were questions on vocabulary, percentage, pie chart, mensuration, time and speed.

NIFT UG and PG Exam analysis will be released soon for all the programmes soon. The exam is expected to be of a moderate to difficult level.

No, grievances or representations regarding the answer key will not be entertained after the NIFT 2026 result declaration.

If the tie still exists in NIFT 2026, subject-wise marks will be compared in the following order:

• Communication Ability
• English Comprehension
• Quantitative Ability
• Analytical Ability
• General Knowledge and Current Affairs

After the objection period closes, the examination board reviews all the challenges submitted by candidates. Based on this review, necessary corrections are made and the final answer key is published.

NIFT GAT 2026 is over now. The questions are expected to be of moderate level.

NIFT Entrance Exam 2026 will begin soon for NIFT CAT. The exam will start at 3 PM and willend at 6 PM.

Biometric information of all the candidates shall be taken. Identity checks will be made upon arrival at the NIFT test centre to ensure that there are no unauthorised candidates appearing for the test. 

NIFT exam has started and parents are waiting outside the centre. The exam will be conducted in two shifts for GAT and CAT.

2. Using a verification code sent via text message (SMS) to the Registered Mobile
3. Using a reset link sent via Email to your Registered Email address

• NIFT admit card 2026
• One passport-size photograph 
• Valid Photo Identity Card (Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID Card, Driving license, Passport, Ration Card, Aadhaar Enrolment Number, etc.)
• PwBD certificate issued by the authorized medical officer (if applicable)

The reporting time for NIFT UG and PG is 8 AM. The gates will close at 9:30 AM.

i. Each question carries 01 (One) mark.

ii. For each correct response, the candidate will get 01 (One) mark.

iii. For each incorrect response, -0.25 mark will be deducted from the total score.

iv. Un-answered/un-attempted will be given no marks.

v. To answer a question, the candidate needs to choose one option as the correct option.

vi. However, after the process of Challenges of the Answer Key, in case there are multiple correct options or change in key, only those candidates who have attempted it correctly

as per the revised Answer key will be awarded marks.

vii. In case a Question is dropped due to some technical error, full marks shall be given to all the candidates irrespective of the fact who have attempted it or not.

NTA will be conducting NIFT 2026 Stage 1 exam in 102 cities. This year, it has added Daman and Vapi to the list of cities.

It includes questions on synonyms, antonyms, words with corresponding meanings, singular, plural, one-word substitutes, idioms and phrases, correct spellings, comprehending a situation from a given passage, etc.

This test comprises MCQs in Quantitative Analysis, Logical Reasoning, Verbal Ability & General Awareness. 

Candidates must bring the following.

1. Admit Card along.
2. A simple transparent Ball Point
3. Additional photograph (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form) to be pasted on the attendance sheet in examination Room/ Hall.
4. Any one of the authorized photo IDs (must be original, valid, and non-expired):  College Identity Card with photograph/ PAN Card/ Driving License/ Voter ID/ Passport/Aadhaar Card (With photograph)/E-Aadhaar with photograph/ Ration Card with photograph/ Bank Passbook with Photograph.
5. PwD certificate and UDID issued by the authorized medical officer, if applicable.
6. Personal transparent water
7. Sugar tablets/fruits (like banana/apple/orange) in case the candidate is diabetic

No, any requests for change of Examination City will NOT be entertained under any circumstances by NTA.

NIFT Exam stage 1 will be held in bilingual i.e. Hindi and English. Candidates are required to answer in the medium as per the option exercised in the online Application Form.

There is no dress code given by NTA for NIFT. But candidates should dress modestly for the exam. They should avoid flashy logos, junk jewelry, and rugged jeans.

NIFT written exams comprise the Creative Ability Test (CAT) and the General Ability Test (GAT). The GAT paper is mandatory for all courses. However, only B.Des and M.Des candidates need to take the CAT.
