NEET PG 2025 is witnessing increasing demand for the examination to be conducted in a single shift. In light of these concerns, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has urged the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, J. P. Nadda, to ensure that the NEET PG exam is held in a single shift to uphold fairness and uniformity in the entrance process.

The association has written a formal letter to the Union Minister highlighting the drawbacks of conducting the entrance examination in two shifts. The association mentioned that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare discontinued conducting the entrance examination in multiple shifts in 2017 in order to protect the interest of applicants and stakeholders. Further, the association mentioned that conducting NEET PG 2025 in single shift would increase the fairness, transparancy and uniformity of the entrance examination. 

NEET PG 2025: Drawbacks of Multiple Shift 

FAIMA highlighted that the major drawback of conducting NEET PG in multiple shift is candidates will receive diffrent papers and creating an inequitable platform for aspiritng doctors. The examination in multiple shifts introduces variability in level of difficulty and subject-wise question distribution. 

The association further called normalisation process a topic of debate concerning the reliability and fairness of the entrance examination. The association mentioned that difference in type of questions in the entrance examination leads to anxiety, dissatisfaction for the applicants in the entrance examiantion. 

Further, the association urged that since the examination determines the future of laks of young doctors, this national-level entrance test shall be conducted in uniform and transparent manner.

Q:   Has NBE released NEET PG 2025 date notification?
A:

Yes. NBE has released official notification for NEET PG 2025 exam date (revised). The exam will be held on August 3, 2025. The exam will be held in single shift. NEET PG 2025 was earlier scheduled for June 15 but it was postponed after Supreme Court's intervention. SC directed NBE to make arrangements to conduct NEET PG 2025 in single shift.

Q:   What is NEET PG 2026 exam date?
A:

NEET PG 2026 exam is expected to be held in August 2026. Candidates have to apply online to submit application form for NEET PG exam. Registration is mandatory to submit application for NEET PG. NBE will release dates and other crucial details such as application process, elligibility criteria, exam pattern etc along with the official brochure. The exam will be held in computer-based mode.

Q:   Has NBE revised NEET PG 2025 exam date?
A:

Yes. NEET PG 2025 was held on August 3, 2025. Earlier, NBE postponed NEET PG 2025 exam date, scheduled for June 15, 2025. The exam was postponed after SC directed NBE to conduct exam in single shift. In an official notification, NBE announced the exam will be held in single shift, citing SC's order. Supreme Court on may 30 had directed NBE to conduct exam in single shift to maintain complete transperancy.

Transparency is also required for FMGE examination. It is unfortunate that all exams of same country differ in their transparency. This leads to frustration in students & parents .Justice delayed is justice denied.
