NTA NEET UG 2026 Exam Day Guidelines

National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct NEET UG 2026 exam on May 3, 2026. Candidates appearing for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test must know the NEET 2026 official exam guidelines by NTA to ensure they are not stopped from entering in the exam hall. The exam day guidelines include NEET 2026 dress code guidelines for both male and female students. Students have to ensure they follow the rules and do not carry any item mentioned in NEET UG prohibited items list 2026

NEET 2026 will be a paper-pencil-based test for admission to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, and other allied medical courses in India. Over 22 lakh students are going to appear in this entrance test. The exam will be in pen-and-paper-based mode in 552 Indian cities and 14 international exam centres. In the meantime, NTA has also released NEET 2026 admit card at neet.nta.nic.in.

NEET 2026 Exam Timing & Reporting Guidelines

NEET UG exam is conducted in a single shift from 2 PM to 5 PM. Hence, students must try to reach the exam centre atleast between 12:30 to 1 PM to complete the security checking on time. Students must note that NTA will close the NEET 2026 entry gate at 1:30 PM. No students will be allowed to enter the exam hall after 1:30 PM.

Students appearing in NEET UG 2026 exam must carry simple clothes at the exam centres. NEET dress code for female 2026 restricts them from wearing any heavy jewellery to the exam centre. In case of students with religious attire, reporting between 12 Noon to 12:30 is suggested for mandatory security checking.

    NEET UG 2026 Live Updates: NTA suggested not to rely on maps

    In a recent social media post, National Testing Agency has suggested not to completely rely on maps to reach the exam centre. NTA has found out that some exam centres, such as IIIT Pune shows wrong location. Hence, students must keep adequate time and before the reporting deadline in case they do not instantly find their exam centre. In such situation, students are suggested to ask location from local residents to be on a safer side.

    NEET 2026 Live Updates: Official exam guidelines

    NTA has released the exam day guidelines and updates for NEET 2026 appearing students. As per the guidelines, students who wear religious attire must reach the exam centres one hour before the reporting time. The security team will conduct the identity checking for the student, and then they will be allowed to enter the exam hall.

    The duration of NEET exam is three hours. The exam timing is 2 PM to 5 PM. Test takers needed to report to the exam centre latest by 1 PM. They could not leave the exam hall before 5 PM. 

    Q:   Will candidates be provided with face masks at the NEET exam centres?
    A: 

    Till last year, candidates were provided N95 masks at the NEET exam centre which was mandatory to be used by candidates. They had to dispose of their own masks before entering the exam centre at the designated bin. However, since the intensity of Covid has reduced as compared to the last two years, this year candidates may not be provided masks at the centre. The information will be confirmed after the release of the NEET admit card. However, it is recommended that they wear face masks for the entire duration.     Students appearing for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate courses tomorrow have to carry their admit cards to the exam centres.
