This is a great initiative taken by the UPSC and it can solve the recruitment woes of various semi-government and private sector companies. The IAS Exam has the high standards and the candidates scoring good marks in the civil services main exam can be successfully employed in various other jobs.
It can reduce the cost of conducting a separate exam and instead various companies can choose from the list given by UPSC. On the other hand, candidates get an opportunity for employment in other companies as well. In the past, this was not the case and the candidates who missed the final list could not do anything even after performing well in the Civil Services Exam.
