TNTET exam, conducted to recruit teachers for primary and upper primary level in the state of Tamil Nadu, is likely to be delayed as the notification for the same has not released yet. As the official calendar released by Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB) Tamil Nadu, TNTET notification was to be released on May 4, there is no update on the same as of yet. Keeping in view the current health crisis due to COVID 19 pandemic and ensuing lockdown across the country, it is expected that the entire exam process will be rescheduled.

TNTET exam is conducted in two parts, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper-I is for the candidates who appear for the primary level and paper 2 is for those who appear for the upper primary level. The exam is a state level exam, which is conducted offline every year. Find the important highlights of the exams below:  

  • In TNTET, questions will come in objective or MCQ format; candidates have to choose one answer from four alternatives given
  • The total duration of each paper is 3 hours
  • The number of questions in both the papers is 150; candidates have to answer all the questions
  • Each question carries 1 mark; no negative marking will be there for wrong answers

Candidates between 18 and 40 years of age are eligible to apply for TNTET. The basic educational qualification for TNTET is graduation with a minimum of 50% marks.
