Mystory@Bina: How I chose my course & college
It was in 9th grade that I developed my love for computers which made me do my Bachelors in Computer Science. Staying in Mumbai, it was difficult for me to select the best college as all are good. Finally, I applied at four colleges considering factors like travelling time, faculty, fees, reviews, etc.
I was selected in all the other three colleges in the first merit list except in the one I wanted to take admission. I had to wait for the second merit list to get my dream college. If given a chance, I still would have chosen the same field.
So all in all, Rule No 1 is to select subjects that you are fond of learning because trust me my percentage went up during undergraduate level because I was doing what I was fond of always. Yes, according to rules, we have to study some other subjects as well in first and second year but that's manageable. Rule no 2 is to select the college considering all your factors as I did mentioned above. Here, your percentage too plays an important role though. And if you have some dream college then study hard so that at least you can clear the cutoffs and get selected. Taking reviews from those who have been in the same college with the same course will always be beneficial.
My college life: classes, extra-curricular activities and more
The greatest relief that I had after I took admission was that I made the right decision in selecting this college. The classes here are conducted regularly, the faculty is excellent. The facilities are very good. I can't even give an exact count of the number of extra-curricular activities that happen here. I have participated in dance competition, some departmental events, other cultural event etc. Every talent is given a platform. Students are encouraged not only to do well in academic but also to take part in extra-curricular activities, sports, inter-collegiate events, etc. If given a chance, I still would have chosen to spend my years in the same college.
