Students must go through the Panjab University CHD-conducted/ national-level entrances and then appear for the university-level selection rounds for final admission at Panjab University.

B.Sc.	Candidates who have passed the Senior Secondary School Examination of National Open School with a minimum of 5 subjects with any of the following group subjects:a.English, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology b.English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and any other language.
DM	Must be within the prescribed age limit - For OBC candidates (please attach proof as per Annexure*): 40 years - For SC/ST candidates, Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officer including ECO, SSCO who have rendered or released on satisfactory assignment (please attach proof): 42 years

MHA	Candidates completed graduation/bachelor's degree from any recognized institute/university are eligible to apply.
MPH	The candidate must possess MBBS/BDS/B.V. Sc/BE/MA/M. Sc with minimum marks in aggregate mentioned above from a University/ Institute recognized by the Medical /Dental/Veterinary council of India/ the Institution of Engineers (India) and UGC/AICTE and must have either completed, or due to complete, respective rotatory internship training on or before 30thJune (if applicable) and must be registered with Central /State Medical/Dental/Veterinary Registration Council. Honestly, Thapar is a good private engineering college, but it does come at a cost.

For B.Tech, the total expense for 4 years (including tuition + hostel) usually goes around ₹28–35 lakhs, depending on your branch and accommodation. It's on the higher side compared to many colleges, so budgeting is important.

As for faculty, most professors are qualified (many with PhDs), and academics are taken seriously. Teaching quality is generally considered good, especially in core branches like CSE, ECE, and Mechanical. Like any big university, experiences can vary by department and individual professor.
