No, work experience has not been listed as a mandatory requirement in the IIT Hyderabad PhD eligibility criteria. Candidates who wish to gain admission into the regular PhD course admissions are required to only clear the specific PG level course with the required minimum aggregate to be eligible.

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology offers admission to most of the courses based on entrance exam.
