MAH CET

The MAH MBA CET cutoff is calculated based on your percentile score, not raw marks. Your raw score is normalized across exam sessions to account for difficulty variations, then converted into a percentile that shows how you rank among all test-takers. The Centralized Admission Process (CAP) uses these percentiles to prepare merit lists and allot seats in MBA/MMS colleges in Maharashtra. 

How the Cutoff is Calculated

1. Raw Score

   • Total marks obtained in all four sections (Logical Reasoning, Abstract Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Verbal Ability).
   • Maximum marks: 200.

2. Normalization Process

   • Since CET is conducted in multiple slots, difficulty levels vary.
   • A normalization formula adjusts scores to ensure fairness across sessions.

3. Percentile Conversion

   • Percentile = proportion of candidates scoring below you.
   • Example: If you are at the 90th percentile, you scored better than 90% of test-takers.

4. Cutoff Percentile

   • Colleges set minimum percentile requirements for admission.
   • CAP rounds use these percentiles to prepare merit lists and allocate seats based on category, preference, and availability.

 Key Considerations

• No fixed passing cutoff: Even low percentiles can secure admission in lesser-known colleges.
• Top colleges demand 98+ percentile: For JBIMS, SIMSREE, and top Mumbai/Pune institutes.
• Category advantage: OBC, SC, ST candidates often get 5–20 percentile relaxation.
• CAP counseling is mandatory: You cannot apply directly to individual colleges; all admissions go through CAP.
