Selection is based purely upon the rank obtained in the entrance exam and not on the basis of your score.

No, it will not impact your placements. You just need to be able to convince the employer with a valid reason for the gap. So, don't bother and focus on your MBA.

This would depend on your interest areas and career aspirations. In case you intend to pursue a career in Accounts/ research / academics/teaching area then M.Com is better. However, if you want to move into general management then MBA is better.
