You can apply for the UGC NET Exam if you have completed the post-graduation with at least 55 % marks (50 % marks for the Reserved CAT. Candidates). You can apply for the given subjects:
UGC NET in Economics
UGC NET in Commerce

Yes, you can definitely go for MBA finance. MBA is a mixture of all the subjects, which helps you in the overall development. Maths will also come into play, but as you said you are good in accounts, I am pretty sure you will easily be able to manage simple calculation of Maths. It is only in 1st Trimester.

If you are interested in food and nutrition then you should do 12th (science) but as you have commerce background so it will be difficult somehow. Cost may differ from college to college.
