Hello Riyaz,Without doubt, the best place to do aeronautical engineering is IIT-Mumbai. The second spot perhaps is claimed by Institute of Science in Bangalore. After these two there are many other Institutions which offer aeronautical engineering but these days many state governments allow students with the domicile of the state only to appear and seek admission in those colleges and hence you can pursue colleges in your state only. Are you really seeking to know any government college, which does not charge any tuition fee for B.Tech in Aeronautical Engineering? I am afraid there is no such Institution in India. In fact these days the government colleges are enhancing their fees to be in line with their expenditures. It is however pertinent to say that the fees charged by government colleges is quite less as compared with many private colleges. Yes you can join the course by writing only KCET given that your ranking falls in the acceptable category for the given department. The acceptable ranking for this department ranges from around 9000 to 22000 with different merit and reserved seats. Some companies that recruit are Wipro, Dassault systems, Bosch, musigma, Continental, quest global etc.,

Yes, unfortunately in India at the moment the opportunities for placement of an aeronautical engineer are quiet less. This is so because the aerospace / Aeronautical industry has not developed much in India. The major entities which employ graduate Aeronautical engineers are DRDO, ISRO or armed forces. This is the situation at the moment.

Hello Saravanan, The scope of aeronautical engineering encompasses all the subjects which are required for studying of an airborne object. It includes different subjects like metallurgy, structures, electrical, mechanical or avionics to study to a certain extent. Unfortunately, the job prospects in India are very less. Once you get job the salary is as good as any other engineer. Best wishes to you.

It's Indeed good to think on these lines, but may I ask you a question. Why aeronautical engineering? As per my understanding and knowledge the prospects in this branch are not very great for placements. On the contrary the chances of employment in ECE are much greater in today's world.
