Only few companies come for placement for aeronautical but we have mechanical background you can also go for mechanical / automobile companies. If you have talent, you can be place in core companies.

You need to take JEE Mains and try IISc to study aeronautical as they offer the best degree in India and is in top 10 in the world.

Hi,
After completing Diploma in mechanical engineering you may join lateral B.Tech course in the Aeronautical Engineering.
To be eligible, you need to score minimum aggregate of 60% marks in the diploma course. You need to sit for Lateral Entry Entrance Test or LEET which is conducted at state level. Some colleges and Universities too conduct their own lateral entry tests.
Some of the colleges offering lateral B.Tech course are :
-MERI College of Engineering and Technology
-Janeta Subash Institute of Technology
-Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology

Aeronautical engineering was the original term for the field. As flight technology advanced to include craft operating in outer space (astronautics), the broader term 'aerospace engineering' has largely replaced it in common usage. Aerospace engineering, particularly the astronautics branch, is often colloquially referred to as 'rocket Science'.

Hello Khalid,
IIT's at Mumbai, Kharagpur & Kanpur take pride places followed by other colleges. You will have to clear JEE Advanced by a good score to get there. I am attaching a link for a list of other colleges.

All the three fields i.e. aeronautical, IT and petroleum engineering are equally good. As per the market trend, opportunities and scope in order of precedence are as follows: IT, petroleum and aeronautical engineering.
