In India, both these words are used as synonyms. Dictionary meaning is that : Aerospace is the industry which makes aeronautical products. You can do either of it. It's same.

Aeronautical engineers handle design, manufacturing and maintenance of aircraft, helicopters and UAV, etc. and astronautically engineers, who design spacecraft, rockets, satellites, and others. Aeronautical engineering was the original term for the field. Both aerospace engineering and aeronautical engineers are niche branch of engineering with lot of similarities in the syllabus with almost 90% overlap.
There are lots of good career opportunities on completion of aeronautical/ aerospace engineering. You can join DRDO/ ISRO/ aviation manufacturing or its ancillary units/ Airlines/ Air Force/ Educational Institutes/ R&D Units / IT,

Almost, all older NITs offer this branch of engineering. The new ones are expected to do it shortly. Simultaneously, there are many private colleges which too offer this course.

IITs do not give lateral admission but diploma is considered equivalent to 12th and hence, if you have scored more than 75 % in diploma, you can appear for JEE Mains and then JEE Advanced for admission in IIT.

I understand and appreciate your interest in pursuing Aeronautical Engineering from RV College of Engineering, Bangalore. RV College of Engineering does have management quota seats. But, being the top rated college in Bangalore, the rates are much higher (approx. over 10 lakhs). The other way to secure admission in the college is by appearing for COMEDK entrance examination and securing a rank of less than 300.
I hope this answers your question. If you have any further questions, kindly revert.

Admissions to NIT's is through JEE Mains. Admissions to IIT's is through JEE Advanced. For Advanced, one has to go through Mains. For colleges in states, one has to go via CET.
