Learning French is not a mandatory requirement for students planning to study in Alberta. However, students who have a decent understanding of written & verbal French can get an edge when it comes to interacting with the local population & developing meaningful relationships as a decent chunk of the locals speak the language.

The application period for most programs usually ends in September, and the deadlines for winter sessions are usually between early to late fall.
